Words from Belfast

Thursday, 2 November 2006 14:40

I'm writing from Belfast today. Pretty cold up in these parts. Got me mitts and jacket on all the time. Nice to get away from normality for a few days. Despite being the second most populated place in all of Ireland it's quiet enough here. Great people, donar shops everywhere... what more could you ask for!?!

Had a blast playing down in Cork last week. Tried out 3 new songs 'White Lies', 'I Will Burn Down Your House' and 'You Drove Me To Drugs'. Went down well I think. Enjoyed myself. It wasn't jazz but who cares. The jazz festival is a bit of a sham anyway. Caters for 1/ tourists willing to pay for music 2/the people who just wanna get drunk and don't care how much they pay at the door and of course the affluent people of Cork but the rest of the music lovers, lower class of course are forced to listen from the outside. Just another night for you and me except the ques are longer at the chipper afterwards. Nothing's changed then.
