Slow down

Monday, 28 August 2006 12:17

Heydy ho.

How is everyone out there in computer land? I'm in transition. I'm in the middle period before leaving cork and starting a new life in other pastures. Not so much greener but just a new space in time.

I was recording last week. It was to say the least an amazing spot to work on music. What a view from the studio! It overlooks Crosshaven harbour. The record is going in a slightly different direction then i thought it would. It's becoming a bit mellower which isn't a bad thing asuch. It's flowing. Really happy about sandra's lead guitar. She played a stormer as usual. The way I'm feeling right now I might go for a more relaxed approach to releasing it. I've been around a few people of late who take a music a little less seriously but who are still pasionate about their music. The feeling of doing it for yourself can be forgotten in this fast world were living in. Sometimes I feel that there's so much competition around me that I gotta rush but rushing never got me anywhere. I reckon i should stick to my own pace like I've always done.

As I write I'm listening to my friend Osin McNally's debuet album. He launched it last saturday night in an unusual setting but it was magic. Unplugged and from the heart the gig was relaxed and untechnical with people lying down and sitting on the floor with cushions. It's a lovely album and I hope Osin gets everything he wants from it. Being around people like Osin remind me to slow down and take things in a bit more. Thank you friend.
